Kansas has long been a sleeper state in the eyes of the spring snow goose hunting community. With some very large lakes and reservoirs in the state the snow geese that come up from Texas coast make their way up through the sunflower state with large numbers that pass through the state on their way north and with alot less hunting pressure from major outfitters the spring snow goose hunting opportunities in the state of Kansas are plentiful. There are plenty of large crop fields and hilltops for the snow geese to graze on with plenty of waste grain for the snows to use for a viable food source. With typically milder spring tempuratures and plenty of areas to roost and get food Kansas is a great place to chase the spring migration during the reverse migration during mid February into mid March weather permitting. With a little bit more of a price on the license cost compared to that of Missouri, Arkansas, & South Dakota it still is a great bang for your buck. The sunflower state over the last 5 years has had some great success during the spring snow goose season and with more and more outfitters taking up chasing the snows early in Arkansas there is alot of area that can be covered and used without running into large outfitters and mass amounts of other hunters keeping the birds more comfortable as they pass through. Kansas has proven to be a vast resource for the spring snow goose season and we really enjoy chasing the snows in the state of Kansas when we get the chance.
